Welcome to Windermere Berry Farms!
We are your 'All-In-One' Berry Fruit & Produce Market, Farm Store and Café
Our farm is just 5 minutes north of Whanganui on the Whanganui-New Plymouth main highway. We have been growing berry fruit and produce here for over 50 years.
Berry Fruit: Fresh, Frozen or Pick Your Own
Windermere Farms is well known for its berry fruit, principally strawberries and raspberries but also for blackberries, boysenberries and blueberries.
Wanganui’s milder summers are conducive to a longer strawberry-growing season from late October to March (and often April) and are less disease prone. Its colder winters are especially suitable for raspberries.
Traditionally the raspberries have come in two crops, Nov-early Jan, and March-April.
Café and Shop
Windermere's café features an all-day brunch and blackboard lunch menu, as well as cabinet food, freshly baked muffins and scones served with jam and cream, and a range of gluten free menu options. We make fresh salads with farm grown produce, fantastic espresso coffees, real fruit smoothies, berry fruit ice creams and sundaes.
Our shop features our farm grown berries (strawberries, raspberries, blackberries, boysenberries and blueberries in season) as well as our own jams, wines and honey.
You won't be able to resist out wonderful fresh fruit ice creams. They are delicious.
We stock a selection of specialty food products including St. Andrews Limes, Sabato, Kapiti Cordials, Rutherford and Myer, and Hakanoa Ginger Beer. We also have a range of gift products and accessories.
Open 7 days a week 9.00am to 5.00pm, from October to May (closed Christmas Day and Good Friday).
